Amanda Lee Morrill
Amanda Lee Morrill is a drummer and percussionist based in New York City. She maintains an active performance career while also pursuing her PhD in Ethnomusicology at Columbia University.
Amanda began her music career and obtained her first two degrees in Utah (MM in Percussion Performance from the University of Utah; BS in Music from Utah Tech University). Upon completion of her masters in 2015, she returned to Utah Tech as a part time faculty member. Amanda taught music lecture courses and private drum/percussion lessons at UTU for seven years.
During her time out west, Amanda regularly performed with orchestras, choirs, chamber groups, big bands, combos, and more. She developed a special interest in musical theater and played at Tuacahn Center for the Arts (Ivins, UT) for over a decade. Her credits there included multiple regional and world premieres. Since 2021, Amanda has enjoyed traveling to play for productions staged by professional theaters in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Missouri.
